Colbie Caillat & Lee Brice Team Up for “Kinda Single”

5X GRAMMY nominee and multi-Platinum artist Colbie Caillat is set to release “Kinda Single,” her fifth advance track from the highly anticipated duets album This Time Around. The new single, featuring GRAMMY-nominated and multi-Platinum country hitmaker Lee Brice, drops Friday, August 29 ahead of the album’s September 26 release via Blue Jean Baby Records. Fans can pre-save the album and “Kinda Single” HERE.

Co-written by Caillat, Brice, and producers Eric Arjes and Jimmy Robbins, “Kinda Single” captures the push and pull of a love that refuses to fade.

“I’ve wanted to do a song with Lee for so many years – he has one of my favorite voices, with such unique inflections and heart in everything he sings,” says Caillat. “Writing this together with him and the guys was so much fun—we even nicknamed ourselves ‘zest and pep’; I’m the lemon zest and he’s the pepper. ‘Kinda Single,’ is about that space between moving on and holding on—when no matter how hard you try to close the door, part of you keeps drifting back. It’s messy, honest, and real, because sometimes love doesn’t fit neatly into all-or-nothing.”

I’d set anything on fire
To burn a path back to you
We keep makin me a liar
Yea I can’t change the truth
The door that we ain’t closin
Tends to let a bit a us back through
Guess I’m always kinda single
Long as you’re kinda single too

This Time Around features a mix of reimagined hits and brand-new originals, with collaborations from some of music’s most celebrated voices, including Maren Morris, Jason Mraz, Hillary Scott, Amos Lee, Walker Hayes, Gavin DeGraw, Maddie & Tae, and more.

Caillat adds “I’ve wanted to revisit some of my older songs for years, but never found the right moment. Since recording them in my early 20s, my voice, production style, and musical taste have all grown. Reimagining them as duets felt like the perfect way to breathe new life into the music and share it with fresh energy through collaborations with some of my favorite artists.”

Recent singles from the album include “Can’t Say No” ft. Ryan Hurd—named a SiriusXM On the Horizon track—along with collaborations featuring Mitchell Tenpenny, Russell Dickerson, and Maddie & Tae. Fans can see Caillat perform these hits live throughout the summer, including a stop at Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, KY. Looking ahead, she and longtime collaborator Gavin DeGraw will reunite this winter for a special holiday tour, sharing the stage on seasonal favorites and timeless classics.
